Grassroots Global Justice Alliance (GGJ) joins with our members and allies from migrant rights, and racial, climate, and gender justice movements condemning the joint U.S.-Israeli attack on Iran. We support the sovereignty of the Iranian people. As a national alliance of grassroots organizations committed to demilitarization at home and abroad, we demand: No war on Iran! End all U.S.-backed imperialism in the region, and against Cuba, the Caribbean, Palestine, and all over the world!
Take Action:
- Join a local demonstration against U.S. imperialist aggression and war with Iran.
- Call on your Senators and Congressmembers to end sanctions on Iran, end the aggression, and endorse the War Powers Resolution.
The Trump regime is engaged in an all out assault on working class people at home and abroad. U.S. wars, military interventions, and impunity around the world are enabling state violence in our communities on Turtle Island. As the Trump regime enables genocide in Palestine, undermines democracy in Venezuela, and wages war on Iran, it is deploying military troops to suppress political dissent in our communities: mobilizing ICE and border agents to kidnap people and break apart families, and expanding surveillance with big tech like Palantir.
Trump’s unilateral actions against Iran are part of a decades-long U.S. imperialist project of sanctions, hybrid warfare, coercion, and attacks on the sovereignty of Iran. The U.S. and Israel continue to be the greatest threats to the safety, stability, and dignity of the people in the region. This was made clearer than ever when one of the first targets the U.S. and Israel bombed was a school for girls, which killed at least 80 children between 7 and 12 years old. This utter disregard for human life is mirrored in Israel’s ongoing genocide of Palestinians through the bombing of schools, hospitals, and food distribution centers.
While the U.S. government builds out its militarized immigration enforcement machine at home, in recent weeks our tax dollars have funded the largest U.S. military buildup in the region since the Iraq invasion of 2003. In waging war, working class people are sent to fight other working class people — and the humanitarian cost is devastating. We reject U.S. imperialism and all forms of militarism that feed off terrorizing our people, from Minneapolis to Venezuela to Iran.
War is not in the interest of the multiracial working class. We call for an end to the bombing and the economic warfare of sanctions that has affected the Iranian working-class the most for decades. Imperialism has never been a means to liberation, stability, or any form of meaningful improvement for society. GGJ and our members demand a visionary alternative to the war economy that charts a path towards genuine safety, grounded in human rights, collective care, and community safety.
Our Feminist Peace Playbook and People’s Care Agenda point the way to feminist peace and a safe, abundant future, by divesting from war and institutions of harm and investing in economies that center life. We hold solidarity with people all over the world who are resisting militarism and building economies rooted in resilience and life instead of war and death.
